Although our consulting services cover a wide range from organizational and leadership development to project management and sales, there is one area that we at Considium are particularly interested in: Performance management. Performance management will be included in all our assignments in various ways.
Implementing performance management in an organization involves "translating" the company's strategy and performance requirements into individual performance contracts for managers and employees. The purpose is to create engagement and commitment throughout the organization and, not least, to create a management process that develops the organization's decision-making and execution capabilities.
APPROACH AND WORKING METHOD
Our approach is based on using simple and practical tools in developing targets and work objectives. Too much time and energy is often spent on developing strategies and setting goals based on advanced analytical models. This means that we are left with a document that is academically exciting, but not very suitable for practical use.
Developing performance management is not about using software, spending long days on courses, or applying complex methods. Performance management is about developing at work – together with colleagues who have a shared responsibility to achieve results!
PROFIT SECURITY
Developing responsibility and commitment in an organization happens through making management work visible, and in no context is this more important than in connection with performance monitoring. No reporting tools or routines can replace the visible management process in a performance assurance meeting!
Performance assurance is intended to ensure that we make better decisions faster. In this regard, it is important to develop our ability to use the management information that is available by establishing good and effective performance monitoring in each individual department, in addition to the company's management team.
The purpose of a good performance assurance meeting
Develop the team…
by making the group's shared responsibility for results visible. Everyone must develop knowledge of each other's areas of responsibility and contribute to each other's success. The group's overall result is always the most important thing.
Building trust and self-respect…
through open and honest feedback on efforts and results. It should be allowed to be critical, but also to show pride in the results achieved.
Secure management…
by making the group's shared responsibility for results visible. Everyone must develop knowledge of each other's areas of responsibility and contribute to each other's success. The group's overall result is always the most important thing.
Create motivation…
by making the performance assurance meetings a creative forum that helps the individual to fulfill their goals and commitments. Performance follow-up should not hunt for scapegoats, but look for solutions.
